A little bit about me.

Over the years, I have studied jewellery making part-time at the Yorkshire Craft Centre, but I am primarily self taught.I have also attended intensive Silversmithing courses at West Dean College, West Sussex and am currently expanding my skills and knowledge in this area.I used to have a 'real' job in Financial Services. Now I design and make jewellery for my living!

I have developed my own style and range of designs. The jewellery is, for the most part, made using sterling silver, but I also use copper and high quality semi-precious and glass beads.

I sell my work at art galleries, retail art, craft & design fairs, country shows and other events as well as via this website. You can see where I am exhibiting during the coming months by looking at the list of forthcoming events.

I welcome taking on specific commissions for your own unique item.

I can also do jewellery parties for small gatherings.

I hope you enjoy your visit.

My website currently only shows items designed and handmade by me. However, I also sell a wide range of other jewellery designs but at present these are  not available through this website. So if you have seen something specific on my stall during the year, do please get in touch with me.

Follow me on my FACEBOOK page where I post details of new designs and events where I'll be exhibiting, so please do go to www.facebook.com/silverandsparkle and 'like' Silver and Sparkle. Thank you!

Below you will find more detailed information about what I make.

1. Silver Jewellery

I design and make my own range of jewellery using a variety of silver-smithing techniques to create differing textures and patterns on a wide range of silver pendants and earrings.
I particularly specialise in making hand-forged large link silver chains, creating links of various shapes and sizes. These are made into earrings, bracelets, pendants and necklaces to whatever length you want - they are priced by the inch.

I am currently expanding my range of modern designs made using silver wire.

I also use silver in combination with beach glass, a "found" resource,' and other complementary materials.

I make use of copper in combination with sterling silver to create 2-coloured jewellery.

2. Beaded Jewellery

Necklaces, earrings, and bracelets using beads of semi precious stones, either on their own or in combination with sterling silver chain or silver pieces and beads.

3. Anodised aluminium Jewellery

The process of anodising allows the surface of the aluminium to take up colour dyes. Whilst it is relatively easy to cut and shape, unfortunately aluminium cannot be soldered. However, I have developed a small range of designs combining coloured aluminium (at the moment just purple and blue) with silver, to create pendants and earrings.
